DIL: Diary of a Branded Golf Ball
Fresh out of the sleeve, with new ink stamped on my side to let them know who I represent. I look so damn cool I can barely keep my dimples on straight. I'm ready for 18 today. Coach, put me in! Now it's just me and my old buddy Tee on the dew-drenched cut grass. We're locked and loaded, ready for our big day. Big shot energy. I get absolutely smoked down the fairway. What a glorious feeling! I'm on the green in regulation, and that's when I hear a voice loudly ask, "Hey, is that your company logo on that ball?" Just another day crushing it, doing my job. I see a sleeve of my buddies get tossed out of the bag towards where I heard the voice. I must have made a big impression.
But just then, things take a turn...a hard left turn. Hooked in the woods. I hear a distant voice say, "Don't worry about it. Someone will find it, and we might even gain a new client." Now my new friends are a pinecone and an old discarded hot dog wrapper. I’m not worried. Someone will find me. They always do. I’m a conversation starter...a tiny round billboard of destiny.
A few hours later, I was found. The guy who picks me up says, “This is a nice ball.” You’re dang right. He pockets me and mutters something about checking out the website on my logo. Boom. Brand awareness. They thought I was lost, but I was just out here marketing.
